Our family

Four generations
under one roof.

“Families should not have to think about the funeral. They should be able to think about their person. That is what we are here for.” — Craig Witzke

A quiet way of working

We do not sell.
We sit with people.

Most families come to us in the worst week of their lives. They do not need to be sold anything. They need someone to take the next call. Sign the next form. Open the next door.

That is the work. It has not changed in over a century.

Craig opened Candle Light Funeral Home because he believed that a funeral should be personal — not a processed transaction at a large corporate facility. No one is shown a price sheet before they are ready. No one is pushed toward a choice they did not ask for. The bill that arrives is exactly the bill we quoted.

A licensed funeral director for over 25 years, and a lifelong Catonsville resident — Craig is available personally, day and night.

The person who answers

Meet Craig.

Fourth generation. Lifelong Catonsville resident. Licensed funeral director for over 25 years. The name on the door, and the voice on the phone.

Come meet us before you need to.

The best time to visit a funeral home is when nothing is wrong. Walk through our chapel, ask any question, leave when you like. No pressure, ever.
